Sunday, May 25th: We Are Witnesses: Opened the Heart

In the New Testament book of Act, Paul and Lydia are examples of people whose hearts remained open to Christ, as they witnessed about Jesus through the ministries of the early church. What I find comforting about both of these people is that their lives weren’t always this way. Both Paul and Lydia were converted, their loyalties changed, and they became disciples of Jesus. Just as Paul and Lydia evaluated and changed their priorities, after they heard and experienced the Gospel of Jesus, we too are called to continually evaluate where our priorities lie in our lives. The world pulls us in many directions, some life-giving and some not, some God-honoring and some not. We need to occasionally stop, take a few breaths, and look around, to see who and what really has the full attention of our hearts and our minds.
