Sunday, May 18th: We Are Witnesses: What God Called Clean
Change is all around us, even in the church. And change is never easy. Our text for this week, continuing with Peter in Acts 11, is about a whole new direction for the beginning of the church. Who is worthy to be included in the new movement? Who should be avoided? Peter, guided by the Holy Spirit, pushed the church to go further than they were comfortable. This is “Kingdom of God” work. This is a Pentecost decision, where we embrace a vision that’s larger than our local context. So, by our witness, and by our loving, we make space for those who may never come in our lifetimes; but who in God’s time are part of the same Kingdom we are part of. And we celebrate that future, even as we live in the challenges of today.
