“Christ the King” Sunday is celebrated on the last Sunday before Advent. When we celebrate Christ as King, we’re not celebrating an oppressive ruler, but one willing to die for humanity and whose loving-kindness endures forever. Christ is the King who gives us true freedom, freedom in Him. We must never forget that Christ radically redefined, and transformed the concept of kingship. And telling this good news about Jesus, about Christ the King, is the unique business of the church. Christ the King is why we are here! Christ the King is who we are called to follow and proclaim!
