Which “tent” will you live in, when it comes to your stuff – “discon-tent” or “con-tent?” You alone determine which “tent” will be yours. You choose it by deciding what life is about. If you decide that “one’s life isn’t determined by one’s possessions”
(Luke 12:15, CEB), then you’re choosing contentment. This doesn’t mean that you must stop buying things or move into a cramped a home or apartment. Rather, choosing contentment means you look to God as your Source, giving thanks for what you have. It means you ask God to give you the right perspective on money and possessions, and to change your heart each day. It means you decide to live a simpler life, wasting less and conserving more. And it means you give generously. When you do these things, you’re reclaiming the joy of contentment and simplicity!
