Christ in the Passover Seder Meal
Did you know that Jesus’ Last Supper was actually a Jewish Passover? Pastor Mark Klaisner will re-create the traditional Passover service and Seder meal. During the dinner we will look at how it foreshadowed Jesus’ death and resurrection. “Christ in the Passover” will be held at New Life United Methodist on Maundy Thursday, March 29th at 6:30 PM. During the dinner and worship, there will be a table with items traditionally used at the Passover meal and their spiritual significance will be detailed. The connection between the events of the first Passover in Egypt and the redemption that Jesus accomplished will be discussed, as well as the deep bond between the ancient Passover feast and the Christian communion celebration today. In order to prepare accordingly we will have a strict RSVP by March 25th. The menu will consist of: Roast Chicken Green Beans Green salad Rice seasoned with herbs Matzoh (bread) Haroseth (dessert) A free will offering will be taken to cover the cost of the Seder Meal.
