This week, the prophet Jeremiah sees God’s promise for a new beginning, and with it, a new covenant. The covenant is no longer instructions written on stone tablets. Instead, the covenant becomes a relationship of hope and love, that lives within the people themselves. God’s unconditional forgiveness forms the basis of full restoration, healing and hope. This prophecy was completely fulfilled with the coming of Jesus Christ. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, this hope continues in the world today in the church, the people of God!
